The problem
Play Therapists Were Never Taught How to Run a Practice
Graduate school teaches theory. Certification programs teach skills. Workshops teach techniques. But very few therapists are taught how to deliver therapy professionally.
How to engage parents
How to improve retention
How to communicate progress
How to set rates appropriately
How to develop systems
How to create predictable revenue
As a result, many excellent therapists struggle to build sustainable practices.

We help you build a practice that works – so you can focus on what matters most

Trusted by Play Therapists Around the World
I was a pretty busy therapist before, but still was struggling with clients time to time. But throughout this program, I have noticed a huge increase in my business. Whether it is through getting triple the amount of calls through online presence, retaining clients longer, and now I have a waiting list. The program covers marketing and business essentials to literally get as many clients as you want. Eric and Brenna really know how to get your phone ringing off the hook. THEN, your confidence and mastery in the model retains the clients and it becomes just a beautiful system.
As a recently licensed therapist, this was the best investment I have made towards my clinical and business skills.
Let me say…..the 6 figure number is not an exaggeration–
- I got serious about being efficient and making money
- I streamlined my systems and collected scripts to save time and give consistency
- I changed my website to be more searchable and consumer attractive
- I got serious about a focused specialty
RESULTS
- I’m hitting my goals for making my desired income this year
- I have a full schedule — establishing systems, time blocking, and using scripts has made it easier to get tasks done during the work day– which translates to more money with less after hours work
- I’m getting more calls and I’m tracking prospects through the process of becoming active clients
- I’m working with clients who are in my favorite age group
The program did not disappoint.
I work in a private practice with several other therapists. My waiting list, full caseload, parent engagement, and low cancellation rate are all evidence of how well this model works. My kids show up weekly, my parents show up for parent consultations, and my support staff understand my process. My income has certainly been sustained and improved by simply following Brenna’s process.
Expect to be changed both personally and professionally in the most wonderful ways as you embark on this journey with Brenna!
The changes [I’ve made as a result of the program] have also led to measurable growth in my practice. I feel confident discussing my session fees. I feel confident running Google ads because now I actually understand what to do. I’ve expanded my caseload and stepped more fully into my role as both a clinician and a business owner.
Most importantly, I’m seeing the impact ripple outward into the families I serve. More and more parents are using empowering language with their children. Parents are helping their children build emotional awareness and confidence. Families are implementing what they learn because I now feel equipped to communicate guidance in ways parents can truly absorb and apply.
It’s honestly difficult to put into words everything I’ve learned and integrated through this experience. If I had to choose one word, it would be transformational.
If you think you already know how to run a successful practice, wait until you experience coaching with Dr. Brenna Hicks. Her mentorship, wisdom, and support are truly transformative, and I cannot thank her enough. Finding Brenna was one of the greatest gifts to both me and my practice.

However, we make no guarantees regarding income, revenue, client volume, business growth, or financial results.
Every therapist enters the program with different levels of experience, skills, resources, geographic markets, referral networks, and personal circumstances. As a result, outcomes will vary significantly from person to person.
Any examples of income, practice growth, retention improvements, or business success shared during the program, on this website, in testimonials, or in marketing materials are provided for illustrative purposes only and should not be interpreted as promises or guarantees of future results.
Success in private practice depends on many factors beyond the scope of this program, including individual effort, implementation, market conditions, professional competence, business decisions, and other circumstances outside of our control.
Participation in Six-Figure Play Therapist™ does not guarantee that you will earn a specific income level, achieve a particular financial outcome, or build a practice of any particular size.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the program cost?
Six-Figure Play Therapist™ certification is $175 per week for 52 weeks. You are not responsible for paying up-front. A credit card is kept on file and charged weekly.
Is the certification program accredited or recognized by any professional organizations?
Generally, no; however, we provide detailed, weekly content summaries and schedules during the program. We encourage you to inquire if this time can be applied to other programs or needs. The responsibility lies with you to spearhead that effort. Ultimately, the Play Therapy Professional™ and Private Practice Professional™ Certification are stand-alone programs.
Is Six-Figure Play Therapist a U.S.-only program?
Not necessarily. We have had participants from Canada, the UK, Australia, Estonia, South Africa, and Qatar.
However, the “Six-Figure Formula” only applies to US practices.
Many of the strategies, systems, and frameworks taught in the program are specifically designed for the U.S. fee-for-service private practice model. In Brenna’s practice, families paid directly for services, and the practice did not participate in insurance networks or rely on third-party reimbursement. While many of the principles taught in the program are applicable across settings, the business systems and growth strategies were developed within this specific practice model.
If you practice in a country with a government-funded healthcare system, national insurance model, or other healthcare structure that differs significantly from the United States, some aspects of the program may not apply directly to your situation. However, many of the principles we teach—such as parent engagement, client retention, professional communication, consultation processes, practice systems, and service delivery—are relevant regardless of location.
Please note that the program is designed around the U.S. fee-for-service private practice model, and coaching discussions will focus on the implementation of those systems and strategies only. We do not provide country-specific business coaching, regulatory guidance, insurance guidance, or adaptations for individual healthcare systems outside of the United States.
Coaching calls are dedicated to teaching and implementing the Six-Figure Formula™ and the systems that support it. We do not devote coaching time to discussing country-specific regulations, healthcare systems, insurance structures, or adapting the curriculum to individual international markets.
International participants are welcome, but we encourage you to evaluate how the concepts and strategies discussed in the program fit within the realities of your local healthcare system, regulations, and business environment. While we are confident in the effectiveness of these frameworks within the U.S. fee-for-service model, we cannot guarantee that every strategy will transfer directly to other countries or practice settings.
What is the format of the coaching sessions?
The program consists of live, weekly Zoom calls, as well as online-hosted video and other content (PDFs, etc.) housed in the learning portal.
Your cohort has a set day and time you will meet every week for 52 weeks. The 52 weeks are not necessarily consecutive.
From time to time, coaching sessions may be paused due to holidays, scheduled breaks, travel, speaking engagements, or other professional commitments.
When a coaching week is skipped, billing is also paused. You are only billed for weeks in which coaching is provided.
The meetings are approximately 75 minutes in duration and are conducted via Zoom; they are always recorded. You will never miss any content, even if you miss a live call.
What resources and materials are provided as part of the certification program?
The vast majority of the content is delivered live, via Zoom calls. There is also supplementary content (videos, PDFs, etc.) that is made available in the learning portal.
Additionally, we recommend several important books, such as Child-Parent Relationship Therapy [Bratton, S. C., Landreth, G. L., Kellam, T., & Blackard, S., 2020], and Art of the Relationship [Landreth, 2024]. The list of books we recommend will be listed in the learning portal during the weeks when the book content applies.
What ongoing support is available after completing the certification program?
Participants have lifetime access to the content in the learning portal and the Zoom recordings.
Many participants desire to continue meeting, so we have set up special post-certification coaching groups to continue to hone your skills.
Finally, we recommend membership in the CCPT Collective (www.ccptcollective.com) which is an online community specifically for child-centered play therapists.
Do I have to renew my certification yearly?
No! There is no renewal fee for the Play Therapy Professional Certification.
Does this program guarantee I will earn six figures?
No. Read the income disclaimer above.
Important: Six-Figure Play Therapist™ provides coaching, education, frameworks, and implementation support. We do not guarantee any specific income level, revenue increase, client volume, or business outcome. Results vary based on each participant’s experience, effort, implementation, market conditions, and individual circumstances.
Prerequisites for this program
Six-Figure Play Therapist™ builds upon the clinical foundation of child-centered play therapy and applies it to the realities of private practice ownership. Because this program combines advanced clinical discussion, parent engagement strategies, practice systems, and business development, participants should meet the following prerequisites before enrolling. These requirements help ensure that every member of the cohort is prepared to fully engage in the coaching process, implement the concepts taught, and contribute meaningfully to the group experience.
- You must have a master’s degree, be pre-licensed or licensed, and be legally able to conduct play therapy sessions with clients in the United States. (Requirements may be different in other countries).
- It is highly recommended that you have some background in child-centered play therapy theory. We have successfully certified very “new” CCPTs, but understanding person-centered and child-centered theory is recommended. The goal is to have you specialize in child-centered play therapy and passionately adhere to the model.
- You must have the ability to conduct play therapy sessions with a child and video record those sessions. We provide example video consent forms, but ultimately, you are responsible for obtaining proper permission and consent from caregivers to video record sessions.
- You must intend to, or actively, work with only children. We desire each of our graduates to be completely child-centered in their clinical practice.
- You must be fully committed to CCPT, and wish to only provide that model in your work. If you are integrative, eclectic, or wanting to “add” another model to your work, this is not a fit.
- You must currently own, or have a plan to own in the next one to three years, a private practice.
- You must be private pay, or be willing to phase out of insurance.
- You must be willing to implement the systems and information that you gain from the training.
How Enrollment Works
We don’t keep enrollment open year-round.
Cohorts are announced approximately five weeks before they begin.
Week 1 — Waitlist Priority
We contact the waitlist first. If the day and time the cohort is planned works for you, you’ll receive a private link to schedule your discovery call.
Weeks 2 through 5 — Public Enrollment
If spots remain, enrollment opens to the public and calls are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cohorts are intentionally small—6 therapists for Play Therapy Professional and 8 for Six-Figure Play Therapist.
Due to the high demand for this coaching, spots fill up fast.
Get on the waitlist to get first access before the general public!
Before you join the waitlist, please read the FAQ and Prerequisites information for this program to ensure that you qualify.
